Frenchboro Preserve Wildlife Walk
with The Island InstituteClick Here to Register
Join Frenchboro Island Institute Fellow Natalie Hyde Petersen for a hike through Maine Coast Heritage Trust's Frenchboro Preserve and learn about the plants, animals, and history of the island. In addition to a guided hike, there will be time to visit the island's historical museum and to explore on your own.
Natalie Hyde Petersen is the Island Institute Fellow for the Frenchboro community. She is incorporating work with Maine Coast Heritage Trust into her fellowship and assisting in maintenance of and improvements to the Preserve.
Come prepared to spend about 9 hours on the island, including lunchtime; since there are no restaurants or stores, please bring a lunch, lots of water, and whatever else you will need for the day.
The hike will be moderately challenging, with rustic trails and uneven terrain, but no major changes in elevation.
Participants are responsible for buying their own ferry tickets and getting themselves to the island. See https://www.maine.gov/mdot/ferry/frenchboro/ for ferry details.
This event is free, but space is limited.
Contact Natalie Hyde Petersen at or 978-774-7776 if you have further questions.
