Join Frenchboro Island Institute Fellow Natalie Hyde Petersen for a guided hike through Maine Coast Heritage Trust's Frenchboro Preserve and learn about the plants, animals, and history of the island. In addition to a guided hike and a picnic lunch by the ocean, there will be time to visit the island's historical museum and to explore on your own.

We'll have lunch on the wharf at Lunt's Dockside Deli in the village. Please plan to purchase lunch at the deli or bring your own bagged lunch.

Come prepared to spend about 5 hours on the island, including lunchtime; please bring lots of water and snacks, and whatever else you will need for the day.

The hike will be fairly easy, but the trails are rustic and the terrain is uneven in places, so please wear appropriate footwear.

Paricipants are responsible for buying their own tickets and taking the ferry over. See https://www.maine.gov/mdot/ferry/frenchboro/ for ferry details.

This event is free, but space is limited.
