Vernal Pool Walk at Clifford Park
Maine Coast Heritage Trust will be holding a vernal pool walk for all ages at Clifford Park, 150 Pool Street, in Biddeford, ME. Sue Bickford of the Wells Preserve will lead the talk.
Come unlock the secrets of vernal pools! These pools provide an important link in the woodland foodchain. Early spring is the perfect time to witness the rich breeding habitat they provide for amphibians and other wildlife. In turn, these abundant pools provide an important food source for small carnivores in the area.
This event will take place rain or shine. Please wear sturdy footwear for hiking in the woods. Waterproof boots are always a good idea. Dress warmly - it can be cool at this time of the year. Bring a water bottle and snacks if desired.
For more information, contact Keith Fletcher at Maine Coast Heritage Trust, email@example.com.
This trip is free and open to all ages. No advance registration necessary.
